“Being HIV/Aids is not the end of the world…”
Setelah cukup lama Formagz mengincar anak muda ini, akhirnya kami 
berhasil “menangkap” yang bersangkutan di markas besarnya. Haha bukan bukan, orang yang saya maksud bukan gembong teroris atau pria-pria berjubah yang rajin konvoi di jalanan (no offense, FPI). Anak muda yang dimaksud disini adalah Ginan Koesmayadi yang dikenal sebagai salah satu founder dari LSM Rumah Cemara dan juga vokalis dari band rock bernama Mood Altering. Inspiratif. Itu satu kata yang cukup menjadi alasan untuk kami kenapa harus mengejar seorang Ginan. Pria bertato yang bekerja sebagai pekerja sosial yang concern terhadap orang-orang dengan HIV/Aids ini menyambut Formagz dengan ramah di kantor Rumah Cemara yang terletak di bilangan Gegerkalong Bandung. Obrolan santai dengan pria penggemar Persib ini salah satunya membahas seputar stigma dan diskriminasi bagi orang-orang yang termarjinalkan. FYI: Ginan merupakan ex-user yang kini HIV+ namun dapat tetap hidup normal bahkan memberikan inspirasi positif untuk banyak orang didalam maupun diluar komunitasnya. Berikut obrolan santai Formagz bersama pria 30 tahun ini, check this one out:
Formagz: Halo Kang Ginan, kumaha damang?
Ginan: Alhamdulillah sae pisan.
Formagz: Mungkin sebagian Forfriend ada yang belom kenal, bisa diceritain gak sekilas who the hell is Ginan?
Ginan: Ya saya Ginan, saya kerja di Rumah Cemara. Rumah Cemara adalah organisasi berbasis komunitas bagi orang dengan HIV/Aids dan pengguna NAPZA (narkotik dan zat adiktif, red) di Jawa Barat. Jadi, saya disini bersama 4 orang lainnya pada taun 2003 mendirikan Rumah Cemara karena berpikir bahwa tidak ada tempat yang aman, nyaman serta kondusif bagi orang dengan HIV/Aids dan pengguna NAPZA untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup mereka.
Formagz: Meningkatkan kualitas hidup maksudnya?
Ginan: Ya, Rumah Cemara memang bertujuan untuk menjadi wadah yang positif untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup kita baik secara fisik, psikis, sosial dan spiritual.
Formagz: Maaf kalo boleh tau kapan pertama kali tau kena HIV+ dan apa yang dirasain waktu itu serta gimana tanggapan orang-orang terdekat?
Ginan: Tau kenanya taun 2000. Jadi dulu saya memang suka menggunakan narkoba jenis suntik dan karena penggunaan saya parah plus suka bertukar jarum akhirnya saya terinfeksi HIV. Waktu pertama tau, saya menyangkal/denial karena anjir asa ga mungkin orang di Indonesia kena HIV, mungkin tesnya salah. Tapi lama kelamaan saya menyadari, membaca informasi, memberdayakan diri, akhirnya saya berpikir ini adalah konsekuensi logis dari sebuah perilaku yang tidak dibekali dengan informasi yang cukup, which is itu adalah menggunakan NAPZA dengan cara yang aman yaitu tidak dengan sharing jarum sehingga resikonya bisa diminimalisir. Saya ngerasa ya udah lah ini anugerah dari Tuhan dan toh ini bukan akhir dari segalanya, ini hanya menjadi momentum buat saya untuk bisa meningkatkan kualitas hidup, memperbaiki kehidupan saya agar lebih bisa berharga. Kalo tanggapan keluarga waktu itu ya shock ada lah, tapi mereka support sampe sekarang dan gak ada diskriminasi.
Formagz: Pernah mendapatkan diskriminasi dari orang lain karena HIV+?
Ginan: Kalo pribadi mah dulu paling orang takut salaman gitu-gitu doang, ga terlalu signifikan lah. Tapi banyak temen-temen yang udah gabung di Rumah Cemara jumlahnya sekitar 4000 orang dengan HIV/Aids dan pengguna NAPZA yang mengalami diskriminasi itu. Oh ya, Perlu ditekankan ga semua pengguna NAPZA itu HIV dan begitu juga sebaliknya. Banyak dari mereka yang didiskriminasi dari layanan kesehatan, misalnya ada yang ditolak cabut gigi karena open status, tapi sekarang layanan kesehatan udah mulai membaik ya. Selain itu ada yang rumahnya mau dibakar juga, tapi diskriminasi yang paling signifikan sekarang biasanya permasalahan kerja. Bagi orang dengan HIV/Aids agak susah bekerja di sektor formal karena beberapa perusahaan atau pun bahkan pegawai negeri sendiri masih mewajibkan tes HIV sebelum recruitment dilakukan. Dan itu bagi kita jelas diskrimatif sekali. Kesempatan kerja saya yang HIV+ dengan kesempatan kerja orang yang negatif tentu menjadi sangat berbeda. Temen-temen disini (Rumah Cemara, red) banyak yang pernah dipecat dari perusahaan tempat mereka bekerja gara-gara HIV+, dan justru itulah saya disini menjadi “bensin” buat saya supaya berjuang di ranah ini di area community empowerment. Biarlah temen-temen yang sama dengan saya yang merasakan hasilnya agar mereka bisa dapat akses untuk lebih diterima oleh masyarakat atau pemerintah.
Formagz: Kita sering denger istilah “Stigma”, sebenernya apa sih stigma itu? Apa bedanya dengan diskriminasi?
Ginan: Stigma itu cap buruk, pelabelan bagi suatu status apapun itu, status sosial, status kesehatan. Kalo di HIV/Aids sendiri pada awalnya dianggap sebagai penyakitnya kaum Gay, pada taun 87 di San Francisco pertama kalinya ditemukan kasus HIV/Aids itu pada kaum Gay. Lama-kelamaan kasus-kasus lain di luar kaum Gay ditemukan tapi karena mungkin udah kaduhung (kepalang, red) mereka menganggap HIV/Aids ini penyakit moral sehingga mereka berpikir orang-orang dengan HIV/Aids itu adalah orang-orang yang bejat sehingga terinfeksi HIV/Aids. Yang pasti stigma itu muncul karena kurangnya informasi dan pemberitaan yang salah. Kalo diskriminasi sendiri lebih kepada membeda-bedakan secara negatif.
Formagz: Kadang stigma datang dari diri sendiri?
Ginan: Banyakan dari diri sendiri dan itu jadi terakumulasi di dalam attitude dia yang jadi kesulitan sendiri pas berinteraksi dengan masyarakat. Namanya juga orang kadang-kadang suka gak percaya diri. Saya pribadi Alhamdulillah sekolah bisa selesai, bisa ini-itu, harusnya sangat percaya diri tapi kadang-kadang yang namanya orang feeling dan acceptence dari orang lain itu comes and go, cuma untungnya komunitas disini mengingatkan bahwa eksistensi manusia bukan diukur dari apakah dia mempunyai status HIV+ atau tidak tapi dari bagaimana dia berbuat pada hidupnya. Apabila dia memberikan stigma bagi dirinya sendiri otomatis orang lain juga akan memberikan stigma yang sama.
Formagz: By the way, kalo saya gak salah liat foto-foto di facebook Kang Ginan n Rumah Cemara ini sering terlihat ada di luar negeri. Piknik kang? Hehe
Ginan: Alhamdulillah Rumah Cemara ini udah cukup dikenal di tingkat regional, nasional dan internasional sehingga ada kesempatan buat kita mempresentasikan Rumah Cemara di forum-forum internasional. Ya kerjaan lah bukan jalan-jalan hehe, da mun ulin mah duit ti mana haha. Itu juga mungkin sebuah achievement ketika mereka (dunia internasional, red) melihat pendekatan sebaya antara ODHA dengan ODHA (Orang Dengan HIV/Aids), pecandu dengan pecandu adalah pendekatan yang efektif untuk bagaimana kaum-kaum termarjinalkan meningkatkan kualitas hidupnya.
Formagz: Oya, ngomong-ngomong soal kaum termarjinalkan katanya Rumah Cemara mau ikut berpartisipasi di ajang Homeless World Cup di Brazil ya? Gimana perkembangannya? (FYI: Homeless World Cup adalah ajang olahraga sepakbola semacam Piala Dunia hanya saja untuk kaum-kaum marjinal)
Ginan: Iya Homeless World Cup 2010 di Brazil, perkembangannya kita masih terhalang oleh dana sehingga kita agak sulit untuk pergi, atensi dari masyarakat juga rendah, pemerintah juga apalagi. Buat kita sedih juga ya, kita mau berprestasi bawa nama Indonesia tapi yaa gitulah.
Formagz: Itu bagian dari stigma dan diskriminasi juga?
Ginan: Jelas itu bagian dari diskriminasi, bayangkan anda mau mengharumkan nama bangsa, namun pada kenyataannya minim sekali atensinya dan jelas itu diskriminasi yang menurut saya sistemik.
Formagz: Rumah Cemara wakil satu-satunya dari Asia?
Ginan: Oh bukan, kalo itu beda lagi eventnya. Kalo itu yang Ashoka Fellowship, sebuah ajang “ngadu ide” untuk para penggiat Social Entrepreneur (kewirausahaan sosial, red). Formagz: Ada tips gak buat temen-temen diluar sana yang udah terinfeksi HIV/Aids?
Ginan: Tipsnya mungkin 2 aja ya, buat yang kena dan buat lingkungan di
sekitarnya. Untuk ODHA nya sendiri saya rasa ga usah depresi tapi kalo memang itu yang harus dijalani ya silakan aja, tapi yang mesti diingat bahwa Being HIV/Aids is not the end of the world. Maksudnya lu masih bisa lebih memaknai hidup jauh lebih dalam ketimbang lu ga HIV, dan apa sih yang lu takutin karena pada akhirnya yang namanya hidup pasti mati. Jangan putus asa, harapan masih ada selama kalian mau berharap. Dan hidup itu justru akan menjadi sebuah kematian meskipun masih hidup ketika harapan itu tidak ada. Kalo buat temen, keluarga, pembaca formagz yang deket dengan orang HIV+ ya samakan saja, tidak perlu pengspesialan dan tidak perlu diskriminatif. Contoh misalnya ada temen yang HIV+ ditelponan unggal poe, geus dahar can? dahar jeung naon? geus anu can? haha, nya biasa weh ya support aja, ajak maen, ajak berkarya, ajak mereka bersosialisasi.
